PeerCentered

Jackie Grutsch McKinney has mentioned PeerCentered in her new Writing Lab Newsletter column "Geek in the Center" ( WLN , Vol 35, No. 1. 7-9. Print.). It is good to see that WLN will more prominently feature uses of technology in writing centers. That is not to say, however, that WLN hasn't always been at the forefront of exploring the uses of technology for and in writing centers. WLN , in fact, has pioneered much of the scholarship in the uses of technology in our field. I might note that this issue is teaming with tech articles, given that the lead piece is about podcasting. PeerCentered too has a podcast that needs a kick in the pants. Any takers?

I've received a few requests from potential PeerCentered bloggers with questions about how to post and what not. Does anyone want to take on the task of posting a FAQ for PeerCentered that lets people know what to do and how to do it? I'd be forever grateful. It would be nice if blogger.com were like WordPress, where you can create static pages out of such posts, but we'll just have to live with it as a post, that I can link to over in the sidebar -->.

Occasionally (well usually once per year) I have to trim down the PeerCentered contributor list, just to keep it sane. What this means, unfortunately, is that if you haven't posted within the last 12 months you will be unceremoniously removed as a contributor to the blog. That doesn't mean, of course, that you can't comment on the blog. It just keeps people on their toes, I suppose. For those folks who just joined, don't worry--I have a good enough memory that I won't delete you. In case my memory has failed, just send me an email in which you attack my poor memory, and I'll make sure you're back in.

It looks like peercentered.org is finally playing nice. Enjoy the new home!

The server on which PeerCentered was hosted was caught in a flood. I have, therefore, moved PeerCentered to its own domain, www.peercentered.org. Hopefully all will go well.
